The Table exists because “almost affirming” wasn’t enough.
We believe following Jesus should never require hiding who you are or who you love.
We try to be
-
Thoughtful.
We value thoughtfulness in how we approach faith, life, and the people around us. In short, don’t be a jerk.
-
Inclusive.
Everyone belongs regardless of ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status. You don’t have to hide.
-
Eclectic.
We follow Jesus and draw from the various stories, traditions, and practices of the broader church in all her expressions. We also profoundly respect non-Christian religious traditions and see them as siblings on the journey towards love of God and neighbor.
-
Communal.
We try to be present for each other — Sundays, weekdays, easy seasons and hard ones.
-
Vulnerable.
We tell our actual stories. We try to be honest about what we don’t yet understand.
